All met for
breakfast and we were ready to go at about 8.30. Noelene and Denise opted to spend a couple of
hours packing, Maureen, Pam and I went down to the harbour again, walked
through plenty of back streets and took plenty of photos, mostly artistic
architectural landscapes which I know will be of particular interest to all of
you Australian based relations.
I spent
quite I bit of time standing outside a variety of Christmas shops, souvenier
shops, craft shops and book shops scattered around the harbour doing a bit of people watching until it was
time to return to the hotel at 10.30 so we could do the final pack, checkout of
the hotel and leave our suitcases in the lobby and head back to town with all
the gang.
Decided to
head up to Floibanen on the funicular. Had to get the bus to town because they were doing maintainence on the rail tracks. Had some more great views from the
summit looking more out towards the harbour than yesterday. Spotted our cruise ship which we board today
for our cruise. Lots more photos of course!!
Had another light lunch up the top then came down and to the hotel to
collect our bags and wait for our taxi which we booked for 2pm.
After some complaint the hotel was unable to arrange a maxi taxi for 2pm so 2 taxi's were arranged. Our driver 'got lost' and it cost 400 Kroner, the other taxi cost 200 Kroner.....bit suspicious but we had a ship to catch!!!
The embarkation went without a hitch, relaxed in the lounge for a couple of hours after dropping off lugguge, then went through the check in prosess and safety briefing, went to the bar for beer and cocktails and discussed our options for the next 2 weeks. Went to our rooms at 6pm and unpacked, buffet dinner at 7 then on the top deck at 8pm to watch the ship disentangle itself from the wharf and off we went.
